Starting today, the past will be nothing but a blur. The present is all that matters. Every day will be lived to its fullest. Goals will be achieved. I will learn to be happy with and without loneliness. Mistakes and roadblocks are sure to happen along the way, but I will not let them bring me down. I am changing for others, but most importantly, for myself. I refuse to continue living in this filthy darkness where I always attempt to drown myself. I have missed many opportunities that I will never be offered again, roads to happiness that are now closed. Starting today, I will make sure to take full advantage of future opportunities, and to take the roads to happiness I encounter in the future. No more whining or crying about love that is now lost, because love will eventually come my way one day. All it takes is patience, and hopefully it won’t take ages again before I recognize it. Effective efficiency is the key. No more goofing around in school. If I want something, I will try my hardest to obtain it, if God wills it.
Today, I will begin to fully grow my backbone. Today, I will strive to live as a Christian should. Today, I will stop disappointing people and start making them proud of me. Today, I will be happy.
God has given me the gifts of intelligence, hard work and determination, all of which I have not used. Today, I will ensure that all of them are used to their full potential for the rest of my life.
Growing old is inevitable, growing up is optional. Although deep down there will always be a kid within me, today I choose to grow up.
